Join us Upstairs at Botanica for a relaxed, LGBTQ+ terrarium making session, created as part of Queer Bath.
From the green carnation of Oscar Wilde to the quiet symbolism of violets, plants and flowers have long been used to express identity, connection and coded meaning within queer history. In this session, we bring that idea into the present, creating our own environments where things can grow and thrive.
Terrariums are all about balance, care and creating spaces where life can flourish. For many in the LGBTQ+ community, the idea of building and nurturing our own environments holds a particular resonance.
Across this two-hour workshop, you’ll create your own glass ecosystem using a selection of plants, soils and materials, with guidance from the Botanica team throughout. There will be time to ask questions, experiment, and make something that feels personal to you.
Designed as a relaxed and LGBTQ+ affirming space, this is a chance to slow down, get hands-on, and connect with others in an open, informal setting.
