Pride Was A Riot! - Performance Night

  • The Old Glass Works Walcot Street Bath, England, BA1 5BW United Kingdom (map)

In the heartbeat of uprising, the ‘Pride was a Riot!’ exhibition (as part of Fringe Arts Bath) raises the importance of queer activism when the fight for gay, trans, and queer liberation and rights is not yet over.

This unmissable performance night within the exhibition will include poetry, drag, speeches, a trans clothes swap, and a mini art market (as well as maybe a cheeky open mic) Featuring: Astrid Solace, Pepper Wynters, safe T pin, Nix, and Evie Wright.

About the performers:

  • Astrid Solace is a multi-slam winning transgender performance poet from Birmingham. Having been featured by and worked in collaboration with the likes of Verve Poetry Festival, I Am Loud Productions, Empower Poetry, and The Big Gay Poetry night, she is about to finish studying a Masters in Creative Writing at University of Birmingham. Astrid was a grand finalist for the Roundhouse Poetry Slam in 2025, as well as the Lyra Festival Slam in 2026. She was a member of Apples and Snakes writing residency Words a Stage, and is the producer and host of Pretty Privilege Poetry - a bimonthly poetry event in Birmingham

  • Evie Wright is a queer poet, writer and filmmaker from Bath. She is a 2025 graduate of the University of Birmingham, with a BA in English Literature and Film. When she is not 'deli girl', she is busy attending poetry events, gigs, and catching trains. She has headlined Chimes poetry night, supported Isabella Dorta on tour, and was Milk Poetry Slam Winner in December 2025. She writes and performs because she has to. Because of the lump in her throat that Always. Wants. Out.

  • Nix is a queer multidisciplinary artist and activist specialising in kink and fetish photography, erotic poetry, and focuses on platforming marginalised identities in all of their work. They are the founder of Safe Space Bath, 3 times finalist for Creative Bath Awards 2026 and listed as a Changemaker for trans and non-binary people by Trans in the City.

  • Safe T Pin is a trans led activist group based in Bath. They host bi-annual variety nights raising funds for trans peoples fundraisers and trans+ organisations, alongside their free gender affirming clothes drive ‘reclaim-the-rack’, which provides trans+ folk the access to free gender affirming clothes.

  • Leaving their coffin to be here, Pepper Wynters storms the stage in their massive gothic boots ready to serve everything from the bizarre, weird and wonderful.

Tickets are ‘pay what you can’. Available on the door.
